Dr. Shanna is the owner of Total Health and Healing Center. She wanted to create a healing space that was different in the world of healthcare by breaking away from the silos and limitations of traditional healthcare models and instead building a place where compassion, innovation, and holistic wisdom guide every interaction. THHC is a space where exceptional providers come together as a true team by collaborating across disciplines, thinking creatively, and offering care that honors the whole person.
Dr. Shanna earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, with a double major in Communications. After working as a biochemist in the environmental industry for several years she attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN for her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Shanna has completed many educational programs in personal training, rehabilitation, Applied Kinesiology, nutrition, Functional Medicine, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, emotional healing techniques, intuitive healing, and more. She is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist, Certified Health Coach, Certified Meditation Instructor, and Certified Chiropractic Acupuncturist. Dr. Shanna recently graduated with a Masters Degree in Clinical Counseling from Crown College in St. Bonifacius, MN and is now a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in traditional talk therapy in combination with Somatic Techniques, emotional release, and hands-on healing. Dr. Shanna has continued to provide exceptional care to her patients for 14 years while also creating content and facilitating wellness classes and workshops. Dr. Shanna enjoys teaching in all areas of healing and health including wellness and detoxification, meditation, self-awareness and personal development, and vision board classes at local retreats, through local schools, at community education and at corporate events.
She balances her time with her two daughters (Stella and Layla), husband (Paul), and step-daughter (Olivia), and enjoys reading, working out, adventure, and all outdoor activities. Her passion is to educate patients and the public on natural healthcare options and move people towards a better state of health. Dr. Shanna is a member of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists, and the American Counseling Association. Dr. Shanna is only accepting new patients for SomatoEmotional Release and Counseling.

Dr. Tom earned his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from Northwestern Health Sciences University and has been in private practice since 1981. Dr. Tom currently specializes in Best Healing Solutions Technique, Neurolink, and Theta Healing. Dr. Tom has 43 years of experience and training in numerous chiropractic and therapeutic techniques including Applied Kinesiology, Functional Medicine, CranioSacral Therapy, acupuncture, BioSet allergy clearing, Nutritional Response Testing and has extensive post-doctoral training in nutrition and treating and diagnosing internal disorders. Dr. Brianna Vick, BSc, ND is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with a lifelong fascination for the body’s self-healing abilities and a deep understanding of the science behind its natural mechanisms. Growing up on a farm in Caledonia, Minnesota, and taking trips into the mountains with her family and horses, she developed a strong connection to nature from an early age.
Dr. Vick pursued a pre-med track at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Her passion for research led her to participate in the Pathways to Advanced Degrees program through the University of Minnesota-Duluth's Medical School, where she gained valuable experience in scientific research.
Her own personal health challenges in her teens and early twenties, which were resolved by making lifestyle changes and with use of botanical medicine, inspired her to follow a career in natural medicine. She went on to complete her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington.
During her medical training, Dr. Vick gained extensive clinical experience through various medical rotations. She also completed an extended internship in integrative oncology under Dr. Leanna Standish in Seattle, Washington. She enjoys providing General Family Practice care with special interest in (1) Digestive health, (2) pediatrics, (3) hormone imbalances and fertility support (4) Adjunctive Oncology (5) Autoimmune conditions and (6) Mind-Body Medicine and (7) Botanical medicine.
Dr. Vick offers compassionate, individualized care with a focus on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness, while supporting the body’s natural ability to heal guided by Naturopathic and Ayurvedic philosophy. She is committed to helping her patients achieve long-term health and well-being through personalized care plans. Throughout her practice, she prioritizes patient education, empowering individuals to understand their bodies and take control of their health.

Dr. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts from Gustavus Adolphus College in Athletic Training and a Master’s of Science from North Dakota State University in Advanced Athletic Training. She then earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University and the Animal Chiropractic Certification from Options for Animals Chiropractic College. In addition to being a Chiropractor and former Athletic Trainer, she has been practicing John F. Barnes Myofascial Release since 2006 and is considered an Advanced Therapist. She also has training in CranioSacral Therapy, Visceral Manipulation, RockTape, and Graston Technique. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and son. She also loves spending time with her horses and snuggling with her two cats. Dr. Sarah strives to bring balance to the motion and function of the body by utilizing soft tissue techniques in combination with Chiropractic care.

Dr. Laura Hjort, DC

Dr. Laura has been a chiropractic doctor for over 20 years and is acupuncture certified, as well as having post-graduate work in nutrition, rehabilitation, applied kinesiology, and craniosacral therapy. She had a successful practice in Foley, MN, for over 10 years, which she then sold and moved to Elk River. She has been specializing in relief work for the past nine years, and says she loves filling in for other chiropractors and helping them with their clinics. Her hobbies include nordic and downhill skiing, mountain biking, pickleball, gardening, yoga, reading, crosswords, and spending quality time with her family at home and at their lake cabin.

Dr. Paige earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2009. She continued her education there and earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2012. She spent the next ten years treating at a private practice physical therapy clinic in Andover, where she served as the Clinic Director. She specializes in musculoskeletal pain and rehabilitation and is certified in trigger point dry needling through Myopain Seminars. Her treatment philosophy combines specific, targeted manual therapy techniques with functional exercises to allow the muscles and joints to operate more efficiently. Her treatment goals are to help her patients get back to doing the activities they need to and love to do, while teaching them tools to independently manage their conditions in the long run. Dr. Paige is also a Certified Nutrition Coach and specializes in improving body composition, helping people with weight loss, and assisting people with therapeutic and healing diets. Dr. Paige is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Minnesota Chapter, and has been extremely active in the Andover, Blaine and Coon Rapids communities throughout her time as a physical therapist.

Cassie is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s degree from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She brings a multifaceted approach to healing, combining acupuncture, electric stimulation, cupping, massage, and cranial sacral therapy to support her clients’ physical and emotional well-being. Cassie is passionate about creating a space where people feel truly listened to and cared for, with the goal of helping every client leave feeling better than when they arrived. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, exploring new places, and continuously learning new things to enrich both her personal and professional life.

Kelsey Brodt
Licensed Massage Therapist
Kelsey is a certified Massage Therapist, Yoga Instructor & Personal Trainer. She has also completed a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. Kelsey uses relaxation and therapeutic massage techniques to elicit a relaxation response in the body, the first step in the healing process. She hopes massage patients walk away feeling cared for in body and mind. She also does prenatal massage. Kelsey tries to develop confidence, mobility and strength in her personal training/yoga clients through knowledge and solid movement patterns. She hopes clients walk away from their sessions peacefully empowered. She also wants you to understand the whole body is connected, relaxation is necessary for healing and your thoughts are powerful. Through her services you will find support for navigating the 10,000 joys and sorrows of this life.

Sarah DeLaForest, L.Ac.

Sarah has been practicing Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine since 2010. She completed her Bachelors Degree in Integrative Health and Healing at Anoka Ramsey Community College and her Masters Degree in Acupuncture with a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine at the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. For the past 10 years, she owned and operated a successful practice in Coon Rapids and is now focusing solely on patient care at Total Health and Healing Center. Sarah is a licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine provider. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and has extensive clinical experience with a wide range of conditions including musculo-skeletal issues, headaches, insomnia, auto-immune disorders, chronic regional pain syndrome, infertility, gynecological issues, allergies, and more. She uses a variety of treatment techniques including Tan/Tung acupuncture, bleeding methods, Chinese herbal medicine, and several types of electrostimulation. In her free time, she enjoys training for and running races from 5ks to half-marathons, paddleboarding, playing pinball, and singing karaoke. She is fluent in French and is currently working to improve her Mandarin, German, Italian, and Norwegian skills.

Gabrielle Bergren

Gabrielle is a certified Massage Therapist and Birth Doula. She first earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Minnesota Rochester in 2019. She spent several years traveling the world and taking on a variety of caretaking roles, such as nannying, nursing assistance, and residential counseling. It was through these roles as a caretaker she realized the profound impact that healthy touch can have on a person's life. This led her to become a certified Massage Therapist through Northwestern Health Sciences University. In her practice, Gabrielle values positive intention, presence, and humbleness. It's her vision to provide a safe and sacred healing space for all her clients in hopes of connecting them with their bodies. Gabrielle provides an energy-based approach to massage with relaxation, clinical, Healing Touch, and Traditional Chinese Medicine influences. She particularly loves working with mothers, pregnant people, and those struggling with their mental health. Gabrielle's clients can expect to be met where they're at with a calm, nurturing presence and enthusiastic support.

Amanda Hedberg
Licensed Massage Therapist
Mandy graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Psychology, during which she supported herself by working with animals, including helping people solve behavior issues in their dogs. After graduation she spent two years working in acute mental health in a hospital setting. She diverged from the path of helping others for a few years by investing in other career paths and has found her way back by way of massage. She hopes to leave each person with a feeling of being cared for and a sense of relief, and enjoys deep tissue work the most. When not in the office she is most often consumed with her duties in the Army National Guard, training in martial arts, gardening, or simply enjoying life with her dogs.

Cynthia McQuade

Cynthia graduated from Sister Rosalind School of Massage in 2005. She is a facilitator of the Dynamic Body Balancing, a Certified Hypnotist, and Certified Master Coach. As an avid learner, Cynthia has various advanced training courses in bodywork and coaching. Cynthia is an advocate for anyone facing a traumatic experience that keeps them from achieving the life they want to enjoy. A core belief that underpins her work is the body knows how to release and reset itself; her role as a professional is to facilitate that release. Cynthia currently runs a non-profit organization that brings hope to the hurting by supporting proven models of healing through trauma informed care programs. Likely, you will find Cynthia in a coffee shop with a friend discussing the wonders of life.

Alyssa Carrera

Alyssa is a Certified Massage Therapist and Dynamic Body Balancing facilitator, known for her caring, intuitive approach to healing. She enjoys combining relaxation with therapeutic and focus work, creating a session that addresses both the body’s tension and deeper areas of need. Additionally, Alyssa specializes in techniques like Myofascial Release, Craniosacral Therapy, and Healing Touch to bring balance to the body, helping clients recover from injuries and find relief. She strives to provide a safe nurturing space where clients can reconnect with their bodies and experience true healing.
As a mother of four, Alyssa is particularly passionate about supporting parents. She offers compassionate care to women during pregnancy and can assist new mothers in transitioning through the postpartum period.
Alyssa also creates a welcoming space for Christians seeking intuitive energy work. She is open to praying with clients, further emphasizing her dedication to holistic healing that integrates both physical and spiritual well-being.

With a natural gift for helping others feel at ease, Zander brings a warm, grounded presence to every session. He specializes in relaxation massages that soothes both body and mind. As well as focus work that derives results. Known for his kind energy and calming approach, Zander takes the time to truly connect and communicate with each client, creating a space where healing and comfort come naturally.
Outside of the treatment room, Zander finds joy in almost every genre of music, nature, and discovering great food to talk about, elements that inspire his holistic view of wellness. Zander is currently working toward certification in lymphatic drainage massage to expand his ability to support clients’ health and recovery.

Emily is a Licensed Massage Therapist with over 15 years of experience helping clients relieve tension, improve mobility, and reconnect with their bodies. She first earned her Associate’s degree in Biology from M-State, where she developed a deep understanding of anatomy and the body’s natural ability to heal. Her curiosity and dedication to holistic wellness led her to pursue advanced education in massage therapy, cosmetology, and pharmacy technology, expanding her skills to support clients in a variety of ways.
Throughout her career, Emily has practiced in spa environments, chiropractic clinics, and private practice settings, giving her a unique perspective on both therapeutic and restorative massage. She specializes in techniques such as deep tissue, Swedish, myofascial release, and hot stone therapy, always tailoring each session to meet her clients’ individual needs. Her background in biology and healthcare allows her to combine scientific knowledge with an intuitive touch, creating treatments that are both effective and deeply nurturing.
Emily’s vision as a therapist is to provide a safe, compassionate space where clients can release stress, restore balance, and experience lasting relief.
